Power Factor Correction MODLCON

Use electricity efficiently, save electricity costs.

What is blind current?
Blind current is electric power, which is used to produce the magnetic field of inductive users (e.g. electrical motor). The blind current oscillates between producer and user and has no effective power output. Blind current is a heavy strain on the power supply line. Your kwh-price increases by this additional surplus load.

Where is blind current produced?
Blind current is produced in a power supply system, in which inductive lineare users (e.g. motors, transformators, reactors) and inductive not-linear users (e.g. electronic power converter, welding equipment, electric arc furnaces, rectifiers, AC power controller, uninterrupted power supply units) are run.

Who needs blind current?
Blind current is needed by inductive lineare users (e.g. motors, transformators, reactors) and inductive not-linear users (e.g. electronic power converter, welding equipment, electric arc furnaces, rectifiers, AC power controller, uninterrupted power supply units).

What can I do against blind current?
You can compensate the blind current, produced in your company, with power factor correction units. Therewith you will bring back the full power of your power supply system and you will be able to use your energyresources optimally.

Advantages of power factor correction units at one sight:

  • Economical use of generators, transformators, lines and switchgears
  • Lower losses and the creation of additional reserves to get more effektive power
  • Lower fall of voltages
  • Lower energy costs
  • Active intervention against (the zu viel) climate change.
